What is what is a Glock 17 Gen 4?
Glock 17 Gen 4 Glock 17Gen 4 in 9x19mm is one of the most
well-known modern handguns available. I call it "modern" because it's
been available since 1982. In the gun industry it's still a relatively new
concept. When it first appeared on the marketplace, there were a lot of
opponents of the "plastic gun that goes through metal detectors at airports
and remain undetected." They believed that it was ugly, referring to the
gun as the "Block 17."
However, the gun is easily identified-the barrel and slide
are constructed of steel. But the beauty lies dependent on the viewer. Since
its release in the year 2000, it has been the Glock 17, has proven to be among
the most durable, reliable and easy-to-maintain pistols on the market and has
produced a variety of similar models which include Glock 19 and 26. Glock 19
and 26. Let me demonstrate what the advantages are that come with Glock 17, the
Glock 17. You can then test it out on the range and make a decision on your
own. In the following review I will explain "Hits" to be positive
aspects to the gun, with "Miss" is an issue.
Reliability.
Its Glock 17 is considered to be one among the
best handguns available on the market. In the rental fleet of Shoot Smart, the
Glock 17 is among the most sought-after handguns by our customers. Although it
has been fired numerous times, it still has among the fewest rates for
out-of-service of any firearm in the rental fleet.
Simple Maintenance.
The ability to clean and keep your gun
in good condition is crucial. It is important to maintain your firearm. Glock
17 is extremely easy to disassemble and rebuild. It also requires little
maintenance to keep it running smoothly. In reality there are numerous Glock
owners who have waited for up to 1,000 round or even more in between cleaning.
This gun is ideal for those who don't enjoy cleaning guns!
Accuracy.
Most handguns of high quality are capable of
two" groupings, or less 25 yards. For example, the Glock 17 is no
exception. I'm able to consistently have my numbers on my cards at 15 yards or
greater. I'll teach you how however that's a separate article!
Are Glock 17 the most reliable handgun?
Durability.
I've used my very first Glock 17 for training and competition for more than 15 years. I carry between 25-30000 rounds of FMJ 9mm through it. I've made hundreds of presentations using the holster. After over 15 years of usage it has only a little wear to the slide's holster. Its Tenifer coating on both the barrel and slide is very durable and durable and wear, so you can be at ease knowing that the Glock will last for a long time.
Sights.
The sights that come with the factory of Glock
17 Glock 17 are made of the same material as the frame. Although I have never
experienced any issues concerning the scopes, I was able to have to replace the
Glock sights with aftermarket ones which have been more reliable for me.
Barrel:
This barrel that is used for Glock 17 Glock 17
is hammer forged and comes with polygonal Rifling. The accuracy of this rifle
result from the increase in contact between barrel and bullet which prevents
propellant gases from blowing away the bullet, which increases the speed. The
rifling makes the barrel easier to clean. Just remember that you should use
jacketed bullets in order to ensure a healthy barrel!
Frame.
The frame on Glock 17 Glock 17 is made of
lightweight polymers. It is chemically resistant as well as impact resistant.
It's also thermally resistant and, it appears to lessen recoil that is
noticeable. It is also adaptable to personalization using the technique known
as "stippling." It is an alteration of the frame's surface where
grooves, dots or other patterns are melt into the plastic increasing the grip
friction.
Ergonomics.
Before the introduction of Generation 4
Glock 17, older models were known for their large grips that were square. The
modernized Gen 4 frame helped to reduce some of the problems. For instance, Gen
4 models include adjustable straps for the back to make users of different
sizes feel more comfortable in the grip. While I'm at ease with the grip
however, one of the biggest complaints from new owners concerns the grip. This
is a suggestion If you are a fan of the gun but aren't happy with the grip,
think about tailoring it to your hand. Our gunsmiths are able to help!
Trigger.
The trigger that comes with Glock 17 Glock 17
is fairly good. There is a bit of slack or free movement in the beginning that
trigger presses however once you've experienced resistance, the trigger presses
are steady at five and a half pounds. There is a certain tangible and audible
clicking sound when the trigger is reset. For concealed and duty carry the
trigger that comes with the gun is adequate. For those who shoot competitively
or shooters with more experience, there are a variety of third-party triggers
that drastically reduce the weight of the trigger pull.
Safe-Action Trigger Safety.
The safety is on the
trigger's face for every Glock range pistols. If you fail to press the trigger
properly the gun isn't firing. There are two internal safety measures in the
frame and slide.
Magazines.
The Glock magazine factory is extremely
robust. They're not the easiest to remove at first however, once separated,
they are wash and put together. I strongly recommend sticking with standard
magazines when using Glock pistols. The factory standard magazine for Glock 17
Glock 17 holds 17 rounds of ammunition.
Value.
Glock 17 pistols are a bargain. Glock 17 pistols
are considered to be mid-level cost range when compared with comparable pistols
from other brands, however they've established a performance record of
durability and long-lasting. I can assure you that most of the people are not
going to see the longevity of the Glock 17. The worth of this pistol will be
evident when you shoot that initial Glock 17 twenty plus years later , and it's
operating like new. My Glock has become better with age.
