Overview of Glock 19 Gen 4
Are it the Glock 19 Generation 4 ideal to carry concealed? The 4th version of the Glock 19 has a few issues, I was pleased with the results and have discovered a gun that is great to carry concealed for defense. First of all, I'm used to Glocks that feel bulky but this model was much lighter and fit perfectly in my concealed carry holster.
Due to its size and plastic components, it's light and compact, without any disadvantages. Gen 4 Gen 4 used 2 recoil springs instead just one which was a huge help with recoil . It also felt more stable.
In that regard, Glock is known for its performance as well. The Glock 19 Gen 4 didn't fail to impress me. I fired a hundred rounds in the range with not one single jam or misfire and have read that shooters have fired over 50,000 rounds without any issue.
But, the plastic components did not appeal to me since they impacted my ability to read. Apart from the barrel made of steel and slide, the whole thing felt a bit loose. However I was able to keep my groups within the 4 to 5" for 25 meters regularly and I was quite happy.
I'd still suggest to replace the sight with something that is more sturdy or an red dot-type sight. A gunsmith from my range advised sanding the trigger guard down to ensure it doesn't hit my middle finger because the guard is big and bulky.
For shooters with left hands You can change magazines release from the south. I really liked the more pronounced grooves on the grip to allow for more control. Gen 4 is a great upgrade for grips. Gen 4 also allows for customized grips to suit different hands, but the grips available are very small.
The security options of Glock have been designed to be internal in nature, users must press an lever on the trigger to trigger Gen 4 Gen 4 to shoot. You must make a conscious effort to press the security, I'm not convinced that you'll accidentally shoot this gun.
In the case of shooting the trigger, it is 5.5 pounds. However, you can alter the connector to get more smooth shooting. Personally, I did not have an problem with the trigger that comes with my standard however some shooters tend to trigger the gun with a sharp jerk whenever they shoot with greater tension.
I purchased the 9mm Gen 4 from the manufacturer at $630. This was because it included three magazines as well as the speed loader. It is available at a lower price elsewhere, however the extras were worth it. The 15-round springs aren't too snug, but leaving them completely loaded for couple of days helped them to settle.
If you'd like a bigger magazine, it's possible to find an 17-round clip, but I'd recommend bringing extra magazines along. It's important to note that other magazines did not work as well on Gen 4. Gen 4, so I'd choose ones from the manufacturer to ensure security.
Overall overall, in general, the Glock 19 Gen 4 is an excellent, solid addition. Due to its size and recoil controls it's not an issue for home defense and concealed carry. If you're looking to test Gen 4 Gen 4 in target or shooting competition The customization options allow it to be done.
