Review HK MARK 23

Overview

If, for any reason, I was forced to take an unplanned journey to hell and had to make use of a handgun to fight for my life, the Heckler and Koch MARK 23 makes a great case to explain why it is for the reason that it should be. For those of you who were born in the 1980s there, you've heard of about the MARK 23 is an example of the Metal Gear Solid gun. The gun is touted by many as being one of the best researched handguns in the 1980s, this HK MK23 was literally designed to live forever. It's similar to it's the NBA regular season. It does not play defense.

HK created the MK23 to be a part of the Offensive Handgun Weapon System program according to The U.S. Special Operations Command (US SOCOM):

Review HK MARK 23

The organization manages the operations of each elite military badass across the globe that includes the Navy SEALs up to the Army Special Forces. And they were awarded their contract at the final.

Then why should it be that U.S. Special Operations Command select a gun that in all respects is a polymer version of the Desert Eagle? Perhaps it was because they fired 30,000 rounds +P ammunition through it prior to when it began to eat it up and that they were in a position to shoot an average 6000 rounds in the MARK 23 gun before it froze. However, I'm certain that the 4 groups that measured .5 inches at 25 meters, with five rounds passing through the hole may have some part to do with it.

Let's just say that MARK 23 MARK 23 is a juggernaut creature that, for whatever reason, people are always trying to transform into a new phenomenon.

Looks

If you're asking anyone who you ask, depending on who you ask, the MARK 23 either looks like an over-inflated USP or RoboCop's off-duty conceal carry gun. I'm somewhat obsessed by the design of the USP and, therefore, visually this MARK 23 makes me all warm and tingly inside. The MK23 has a utilitarian elegance to it. It's a stunningly beautiful gun that has classic lines that keep the design from becoming old-fashioned. I am convinced that in 20 to 30 years in the future it's likely that MARK 23 will still look great. MARK 23 will still look modern and stylish compared to whatever absurd Laser blasters are in use then.

Ergonomics

If you take a look at MARK 23, it's a enormous gun. However, once you grasp it you'll feel it's like a little more than normal. I'm petite and the grips didn't take over my hands; I was able to keep the gun in a controlled manner without a lot of stress. The grip's texture is aggressive but the overall ergonomic language used by the gun seems a bit old-fashioned. There's no fancy, replaceable backstraps, or grips with alien-looking texture and contours. It's really just an ordinary grip that has some texture.

Trigger

Of all the double-action/single-action triggers I've pulled, I want to say the MARK 23's is the best. It's it's like that moment where you try to remember all the people you've had a sleep with, I feel as if I've forgotten one. This isn't a fake trigger using a one-pound pull. What you get is a simple 11.4-pound double-action pull as well as an 5.17-pound single-action pull, with minimal or any creep. The reset time is surprisingly small. The trigger itself is textured making the placement of fingers a breeze. The guard is big enough I could easily fire the gun using my fist, if I wanted to. The trigger assembly in general helps make this amazing piece of a handgun more comfortable to shoot.

Features

Slide

The single-piece, machined steel slide of MARK 23's slide MARK 23 is what gives the gun its massive appearance. Each time I fire the gun, I feel like I'm closing the doors to the vault of a bank. This is my most favorite part of the gun due to the fact that it's so imposing. It's also the best example of how well-engineered and sophisticated this gun is.

Barrel

With the 5.87-inch threaded barrel and a 5.87-inch threaded barrel, the MARK 23 is a good substitute for an actual rifle because its barrel is this long. I am sure that the barrel's length as well as the resultant 7.76-inch distance of sight play a significant role in the jaw-dropping accuracy of this gun.

Safety

There's a lot happening in this gun's safety department. The left-hand part of the MARK 23 looks like an industrial art exhibition. There are levers that sit on top of surface indentations and levers which are later discovered to be the frame-mounted decocking lever as well as the ambidextrous lever for safety. My experience has revealed that there's no real silent regarding it "silent" decocker that is designed to help in "operational security." Its safety lever mechanism is very easy to use, but it can only be engaged after the hammer is returned and the hammer is back, which means you are able to "carry" this nifty device with it cocked and locked.

Attachment Points

I could get into a tirade about how "Universal mounting grooves" to mount accessories do not necessarily mount everything. However, considering that it is the case that MARK 23 was developed before 1913, when Picatinny rails became everywhere and I'm willing to allow the MARK 23 make it. Make sure that isn't HK or another HK exclusive feature, and you're not purchasing a gaudy adapter it's likely to not fit on the MARK 23.

Magazine Release

Personally, I like the paddle magazine release from HK. Although, I'm not able to reach it from the MARK 23 without completely altering my grip, and twisting my wrist as if I'm throwing the gang's flag. Magazines fall free and are cleared in a flash as if they've been waiting for all their lives to escape the boundaries that the MARK 23's grasp.

Shooting Experience

Given the size of the gun, you'd assume it's capacity would be equivalent to the belt-fed minigun. This is completely wrong. It's not a problem, 12-rounds of .45 can be nothing to laugh at however when the host of the 12 rounds is what I would call my iPhone Air it's a little dull.

Based on its dimensions and weight It's easy to see that it's easy to see that the MARK 23 can look a little intimidating to shoot, however, it's actually very easy. It's easy to feel HK's recoil-reducing system working to combat any recoil-related sensations as the white blood cells that fight an infection. When you pull the trigger, you expect an explosive jolt however all you get is an occasional muzzle flip , and a pleasant but robust impact.

MARK 23 fast is no simple task due to the inevitable muzzle flip you experience due to the two-mile long barrel and slide. The trigger however is extremely quick and assists in the shooting at a speed. I shot faster than my gun could be able to get back on the target, which meant I needed to be conscious to slow my pace while waiting for the sights to be back on the target.

This MARK 23 is the only handgun I've ever designed to hit an adult-sized target at 180 yards twice in 4 shots. I was able repeat this several times, and luck did not have anything to have anything to do with it. The gun is incredibly reliable and, with the incredible scope of sight on this gun I could be shooting an actual rifle. Maybe it's not. All in all MARK 23 MARK 23 has a place in my heart due to the fact that its shooting feels amazing. It is possible to work using this firearm. I am annoyed that some people are quick to make this MARK 23 into a novelty product. Desert Eagles are novelties because they're far more than their practical use. Although it's true that the MARK 23 is big, it's reliable, simple to shoot, extremely precise, and far more comfortable than the Desert Eagle and guns like they could ever be. Whatever you think about its size, weight and weight, the MARK 23 is not a new concept. If you're me this is the ultimate engineering feat.
